Sebatian Jack joins Improbable Press

Novelist Sebastian Jack and cat Chuck

We're excited to announce today that Sebastian Jack is the newest author signing with Improbable Press.

Sebastian joins improbable with his near-future novel Electric Blue, releasing in 2023.

Set in New York City in a time where you, me, just about anyone rich enough can buy new limbs (stronger, longer, prettier!) and bespoke organs (wouldn't you love bigger eyes?), fashioning themselves into gods.

Sebastian is "an Italian- and Japanese-American family, which means he can’t do math and doesn’t like tomatoes."

Sebastian is "a bilateral above-knee amputee and full-time wheelchair user – something he frequently misattributes to 'extreme body modification' in order to peacock in front of other goths." He lives in the United States and Electric Blue is his first novel with Improbable Press.

About Electric Blue:

Hephaestus Forge Biotech crafts the gods of tomorrow. Manufacturing prosthetic limbs and bespoke organs, they're represented by double-leg amputee spokesmodel Cymbre Archer. But a lifetime in the spotlight and wearing company tech has taken its toll on Archer, who's addicted to painkillers and prone to violent outbursts.
Then her personal assistant steals a prototype from the company's labs, demanding she hide it. Blindsided when a living man arrives on her doorstep in a crate, she finds he comes not only with unexpected humanity, but a first-draft press release:
"Hephaestus Forge introduces the first fully-functioning automaton in human history!"
Archer is no hero. And though she's not the savior Caelan needs, the fact is she's the only one he's got.
