The first in a series of writing prompts for your inspiration, shared every Thursday.
Feel free to share anything at all, fandom, original, a poem, an ode, whatever you're inspired, share in the comments below (moderated to control the bots), or just run off into a meadow and together you and the pic can share your love in the sunshine. Or! Even better! Take it and build something from it on AO3 or in your writing workshop or wherever!
Either. Or. All? All is good.
Shall we begin?
“The truth is… I only booked one room.”
“What?”
“That whole thing about the hotel being fully booked and there was a conference in town, and there wasn’t any space… “
“Yes?”
“Um… No.”
“Ah.”
“Are you cross?”
“Are you kidding? Come here.”
“Um… I’m already pretty ‘here’.”
“Yes. Yes, you are. And you’re not the villain of this piece, truth be told. That crown goes to the person who insisted on a double rather than a twin.”
“Wait… You did that?”
“While you were pretending to argue with the concierge, yes. I did that.”
“But… really?”
“Really. So… what do you say we do that again?”
“I’d say… let’s do it slowly this time.”
“Slow works for me.”
HONEYED MOON THAT IS MAGIC. I love it. Love it.
The sky brightens slowly… golden light spreading across the endless sea. It was beautiful, in a harsh and unrelenting way. This place of exile was now home. He was (always) a villain; to himself most of all. Thinking on recent events, he was ready to let go of it all. He took up his stylus and wrote this newest revelation in his journal:
“The truth is, I never wanted the crown…
… I only wanted you.”
